dsc_0915Youths from across the country took part in the annual National Bible Competition organized by The Bible Society of Nigeria in Lagos on October 14, 2016.

18 participants within the age bracket 15-24 came from the six geo-political zones of the country. The participants answered questions from the book of Job.

Declaring the competition open, the General Secretary of BSN, Dare Ajiboye represented by the Publishing Manager of BSN, Deacon Ayo Durodola asked the contestants to see the competition as a friendly one as the purpose of the contest was to make them internalize the Word of God, adding that it was to help the youth to study the Bible and live according to God’s commandments. “Many people have left the path of God. We are where we are today because we have abandoned the ways of the Lord,” he said. He reminded the youths of the benefits of obeying God and urged them not to depart from His presence.

Also speaking to the youths on the topic: Potential for finishing strong, the Manager, Church and Public Relations of BSN, Mr. Lucky Ogwu said that one of the most critical ingredients needed to finish strong was for anyone to be born again. Among other things, he asked them to remain focused, hardworking and keep the right company.
