Ambode, Amosun, Dosumu-Awolowo commend Bible Society, urge support

The Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Akinwumi Ambode, his Ogun State counterpart, Mr. Ibikunle Amosun and the Executive Director, HID Awolowo Foundation, Dr. Mrs. Tokunbo Awolowo-Dosumu have commended The Bible Society of Nigeria for her efforts in making the Word of God available, particularly for the Nigerian Sign Language Bible for the Deaf in Nigeria.

They made the commendation at the 13th Annual Luncheon of the Special Members Forum of The Bible Society of Nigeria. Governor Ambode, who was represented by his Special Adviser on Religious Matters, Reverend Dr. Kolawole Verralls, said that by translating and distributing the Bible, the organization is assisting the great commission. On his own part, Governor Ibikunle Amosun who was represented by the Secretary to Ogun State Government, Barr. Taiwo Adeoluwa said he was delighted to hear that Bible is being translated into Nigerian Sign Language for the Deaf community. Barr. Taiwo Adeoluwa disclosed that the governor recently appointed a physically challenged person as a Permanent Secretary in the state.

On her part, the chairman of the occasion, Dr Mrs. Tokunbo Awolowo-Dosumu said the only tool for evangelism which is the Bible is being provided by the BSN. Dr. Awolowo-Dosumu enjoined the guests to rally support for the organization in recognition of the fact that it costs a fortune to translate the Bible. She recalled with nostalgia how the Bible transformed her life and urged all to support The Bible Society of Nigeria so that the Bible could be made available to everybody.
Also speaking, the Guest Speaker, Reverend Dr. Felix Omobude said that there has never been a time the Word of God is needed in Nigeria more than now. Reverend Omobude also appealed to the guests to support the BSN, adding that every investment made for the kingdom of God is a right investment and that God takes note of every service rendered to him.
