35 Graduate from Bible Society Academy

A total of 35 members of staff of the Bible Society of Nigeria made up of 11 Management staff members and 24 Officers have graduated from the Society’s academy which started in January 2017. The graduation ceremony took place in Lagos on Saturday, December 9, 2017 after the final examination held on Friday, December 8, 2017.


According to the General Secretary of the organization, Dr. Dare Ajiboye, the purpose of the academy is,DSC_0455 “to groom a talent pool of God-fearing, young and competent men and women that will give room for the organization to have capable hands that will always be available for and able to take higher responsibilities when needs arise.”


The Board Chairman, Dr. Aaron Nuhu who was visibly elated commended the General Secretary and his team for the initiative and urged the graduating students to justify the time and other resources expended to put the programme together by bringing new ideas to the operations of the organization.


DSC_0459The programme which lasted for 11 months had a total of 14 modules and 61 topics handled by erudite and experienced professionals. Some of the topics that were covered in the programme were: Strategic Review during Era of certainties, uncertainties and volatility; Why strategic plans fail and how to avoid them; Leading for strategic results; Starting with God in everything; the importance of product development in the value chain, among others. Lectures were held every second Friday and Saturday of the month from 8:00 am – 6:00 pm each day from January – November, 2017.

DSC_0457 DSC_0461Among the people in the faculty were: former Nigeria’s ambassador to the UK and former Managing Director of Cadbury Nigeria Plc, Dr. Christopher Kolade; former Human Resource Director of 7UP Bottling Company Plc, Barrister Femi Mokikan; former President of Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria [CIPM], Mr. Abiola Poopola; former Registrar of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria [ICAN], Mr. Olaolu Sowande; our General Secretary, Dr. Dare Ajiboye and some of his Senior Management team members.

A total of 39 staff members started the programme, two passed on during the year while two others resigned from the organization.
