BS Nigeria set to dedicate Deaf Translation Centre

 

Deaf CentreAll is now set for The Bible Society of Nigeria to dedicate a Deaf Translation Centre in Ibadan, South West Nigeria on Saturday, September 30, 2017.

In fulfillment of her mission to meet the Scriptural needs of every Nigerian and to help people interact with the Word of God, The Bible Society  Nigeria in conjunction with the Deaf Opportunity Out Reach (DOOR) International, Kenya has produced 110 Chronological Bible Stories [CBS] for the Deaf in Nigerian Sign Language. In furtherance of the work, the BSN has also built a Deaf Bible Translation Centre in Ibadan for Bible translation into the Nigerian Sign Language for the Deaf Christian community in Nigeria.

The 110 Chronological Bible Stories (CBS) for the Deaf will also be dedicated at the occasion. The DOOR International is also expected to hand over the management of the Nigerian Sign Language Bible Deaf Centre 2Translation to the Bible Society of Nigeria. The Deaf community in Nigeria, particularly in the South-West Nigeria, and the BSN are looking forward to the day.

John Cardinal Onaiyekan, the Catholic Archbishop of Abuja Diocese, will officially dedicate the building while Pastor Ituah Ighodalo, the Senior Pastor of Trinity House will speak on the Importance of the Bible in the Life Transformation of the Deaf. The President of the Society, Dr. Aaron Nuhu and the General Secretary, Dr. Dare Ajiboye, other Management staff  and some other duty staff will also be in attendance. A team from DOOR International, Kenya are being expected in the country for the event.
