Bible Society donates Braille Bibles at World White Cane Day

In her continuous effort to meet the scriptural needs of Nigerians, The Bible Society of Nigeria donated four complete sets of Braille Bible to three schools of the Blind during the celebration of 2017 World White Cane Day.

Some staff members of the Bible Society of Nigeria joined other volunteer organizations to guide the People with Visual Disability during a walk which commenced from Ojota and terminated at Ndubuisi Kanu Park Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos South West Nigeria, a distance of about nine kilometers. The schools that received the Bibles were: Pacelli School for the Blind, Surulere; Lagos State Model College, Agbowa; and Queens College all in Lagos

Miss Anu Adewumi, a student of Pacelli School for the Blind read a portion of the Bible to the admiration of the audience before her school received the Bible. Mr. Joshua Opeyemi who guided the students to the program told the BS Nigeria’s staff that most of the copies of their Braille Bible had been torn and expressed joy that they had gotten replacement while the students of Queens College joyfully carried the cartons of the Bible without any guide.
